Servant of Rage by A.Z. Anthony – Cover Reveal
Hey everyone! Thank you for dropping by for today’s special event: the cover reveal for my debut novel, Servant of Rage!
Now, of course, I can’t just go and show you the cover right away. That’d ruin the surprise. No, I have to draw things out and make you w—
Who the hell am I kidding? Have at it!
Look at that thing! Look at its majestic golden birds! Its ominous, sword-wielding warrior! Its badass, probably plot-relevant glowing scars!
Forgive my enthusiasm, but I couldn’t be happier with the final product. I suspect my cover designer, the wonderful Rachel Lawston, actually used some ancient dark sorcery to craft this masterpiece, though she insists otherwise. However she does it, she’s a miracle worker when it comes to cover design and I couldn’t recommend her more.
I’d love to give y’all some more insight into the design process, but it really was just me rambling to Rachel about my disjointed ideas, and her turning them, alchemy-like, into this masterpiece. (I’m telling you, dark magic, damnit!)
Speaking of dark magic, can I tell you a bit about Servant of Rage? (Look at that smooth transition! I bet you didn’t even notice we’re now in the promo-y part of this post, eh? Man, I’m slick.)
You might be wondering what Servant of Rage is about. Or maybe you’d like to try out some of my writing before deciding if you’d enjoy this book? Or maybe, you’d like to retire tomorrow with a million bucks in the bank and the freedom to pursue a life of leisure, reading, and decadent meals?
Well, that last one is completely unrealistic. As I’ve always said, “you have to be realistic about these things.” (Pretty good line, huh? I’ve been thinking about having one of my characters say it a lot. Maybe a big nine-fingered barbarian, or something. I don’t know. Just a thought.)
Anyway, I can’t help you with your retirement, but I can promote Servant of Rage until you’re tired of hearing about it! That’s a good marketing plan, right?
Someone really intelligent and famous, someone you’ve definitely heard of, and someone who definitely isn’t the author of Servant of Rage, described it as: “Avatar: The Last Airbender as directed by Quentin Tarantino.”
But don’t take (definitely not) my word for it; why not check it out for yourself? Servant of Rage releases April 3, 2018. In the meantime…
To kill an heir is to claim their power. But at what cost?
As the khan’s fiercest headhunters, brothers Subei and Bataar are feared across the steppe. When they’re struck by lightning from a freak storm, however, they awake to find unnatural powers growing within them. And what’s more, they’re not alone.
All across the land other “heirs of the ancestors” have been imbued with these powers. Some call it a gift. Others, a curse. The khan calls it opportunity.
Under the tutelage of two infamous women – one a conqueror, the other a monk – the brothers are sent to the lands of the mighty Zhong empire to hunt heirs and consume their power for the good of the khanate.
With each kill, their powers grow. But so too does something else, boiling beneath the surface until it breaks free in uncontrollable fits of violence. As these so called bloodrages grow stronger and last longer, Subei and Bataar must weigh their duty, and their honor, against the unnatural madness growing within.
Like the sound of that? You can read the first three chapters right now, and/or add the book to your Goodreads shelves!
Love the sound of that? You can preorder your copy of Servant of Rage on Amazon today!
Hate the sound of that? Please, let me know! You can send all criticisms to my personal address (140 Actual Incinerator Way, Apt. 23, Great Inferno Village, FL, 33030) where I assure you, they will be read and taken, most earnestly, to heart.
So, uh, yeah. I guess that’s it. To recap: You can see the cover of Servant of Rage above, Rachel is a miracle worker of a cover designer, and you can preorder your very own copy of Servant of Rage right this moment (or buy it in paperback or for Kindle on April 3).
If y’all have any questions, or just want to tell me how much this jaw-dropping cover has changed your life, you can find me at Azanthony.com, or hit me up on Twitter.
Thanks for dropping by! And, until next we meet, don’t let the bloodrage get the better of you.

OH YES. *carefully balances it atop his TBR tower*
It’d be a shame for that TBR pile to topple over, thoroughly randomizing the order, and mysteriously placing Servant of Rage up next for you to read! Just one of life’s little coincidences, eh? 😉
YES, very nice.
Thank you!

Glad you like it, Marc! And I hope you love the story! Can it be April already?
