SPFBO 5 Now Accepting Submissions!

That’s right – the Self-Published Fantasy Blog-Off (aka SPFBO) is back! (If you’re not sure what SPFBO is, I’ve spoken about it a bit here.) This year’s contest – which is run by Mark Lawrence – will enlist the help of ten blogs (including the Hive!) to determine which are the ‘best’ self-published fantasy novels.

For authors thinking of submitting, the details can be found here, and you can keep track of entries here. But be quick! There are only 300 available spots, and they usually fill up within just a few days.

Phase 1 of the contest will officially begin on July 1st 2019, and will last five months. As I’ve mentioned, the Hive will be one of this year’s participating blogs, and I’ll post more details on that in the coming weeks. For now, though, check out our reviews of previous entries, and be sure to follow the contest on Twitter using the #SPFBO hashtag!

When she isn’t working on a manuscript or writing for the Hive, you're most likely to find her on Twitter, playing Dragon Age, or hoarding polyhedral dice. Laura also writes LitRPG under the pen name Demi Harper; her first novel, GOD OF GNOMES, was published in September 2019. She created The Fantasy Hive in 2017; her sanity has been steadily disintegrating ever since.
