GOD OF GNOMES by Demi Harper – COVER REVEAL
Fans of the Hive will know we’ve hosted a fair few cover reveals since the site’s inception. Now, for the first time ever, I’m delighted to present the cover of my own upcoming book: GOD OF GNOMES!
As I announced on my personal blog last month, I’ll be publishing God of Gnomes – my debut LitRPG novel – under the pseudonym Demi Harper. There are a few reasons for this, but foremost among them is the fact that this book marks a somewhat dramatic change in both tone and subject matter from my existing (and ongoing) body of fantasy work. I decided it made sense to put out God of Gnomes – and all future LitRPG novels, of which I’m sure there will be many! – as an entirely new ‘brand’. Don’t worry, though – it’s still me!
Without further ado, then, here is the final cover for God of Gnomes!
Colourful, fun, and just a little bit different from your usual fantasy fare – the cover perfectly encapsulates the spirit of the book. Credit for the art and typography goes to the enormously talented Alberto Besi, who really nailed Gneil the gnome’s moment of bravery in one of my favourite moments of the story.
Want to know a little more about God of Gnomes? Here’s the official blurb:
What kind of god would you be?
Deep beneath the earth, Corey finds himself reborn as a God Core – a sentient crystal with unusual powers. His new worshipers? A colony of incompetent gnomes, scratching out an existence in their underground grotto.
If that wasn’t bad enough, Corey soon realizes that his gnome denizens are about to become extinct. They are threatened by groups of blundering adventurers, and abducted by raiding kobolds to be sacrificed to their own dark god: an ancient, mysterious foe who does not take kindly to Corey’s arrival.
With the aid of his helper sprite and a menagerie of newly evolved creatures, Corey must protect and guide his gnomes until they can stand on their own two feet. But the kobold army is on the march, led by his new rival’s powerful avatar.
It’s a hard rock life, being a God Core.
Inspired by the god sims such as Black & White, dungeon managers like Dungeon Keeper and civ builders like Age of Empires, God of Gnomes is the first in a new generation of LitRPG and Dungeon Core stories — God Core.
I’m really excited for Gnomes‘ release, and I hope it’s as fun to read as it was to write. I’ll be posting an exclusive excerpt from the book in a couple of weeks’ time, but if you’re feeling impatient, you can check out my other fantasy writing while you wait!
GOD OF GNOMES will be available in all formats (ebook, paperback and audiobook) on September 26th 2019, and will be available for pre-order on September 12th.
In the meantime, you can add the book to your Goodreads shelves here.
