KICKING AXE AND TAKING GNOMES by Steve Thomas (Cover Reveal)
Today we’re delighted to be revealing the cover for KICKING AXE AND TAKING GNOMES, a collection of the first three Klondaeg adventures by Steve Thomas!
Best. Title. Ever. And what an awesome cover! Here’s what Steve had to say about it:
J. Caleb Clark’s website promises badass covers for badass stories. The jury’s still out on the story, but there’s no doubt he delivered on the cover. For “Kicking Axe and Taking Gnomes,” I wanted the cover to promise two things: over-the-top action and humor. Based on that request and a brief description of Klondaeg, Clark pitched the idea of Klondaeg standing in a dragon’s mouth, propping it open with one hand and chugging a mug of beer with the other–and I knew I had found an artist who understood the essence of Klondaeg. While I sat back and waited for the magic to happen, Clark came up with something even better that perfectly captures the feel of the book. I’m delighted by and grateful for Clark’s excellent work, and if you want to see more badass covers, check out his website at https://www.jcalebdesign.
And here’s the official blurb for KICKING AXE AND TAKING GNOMES:
A bearded wrecking ball rampages his way through 16 hilarious adventures.
Monsters killed his parents, and Klondaeg is out for revenge. Wielding a talking battle-axe with a split personality, Klondaeg travels the world, teaming up with outlandish adventurers in search of new monsters to slay. He’ll battle lycanthropic garden gnomes, gold-devouring demons, aliens from a long-dead universe, the mighty maxotaur, an apocalyptically misguided wizard, and much, much more on his tireless quest to track down and bury every monster he can find. Klondaeg may be the world’s greatest monster hunter, but the world needs more than a monster hunter. It needs a hero.
“Kicking Axe and Taking Gnomes” collects the first three volumes of Klondaeg’s outrageous escapades, including “Klondaeg The Monster Hunter,” “Klondaeg and the Klondaeg Hunters,” and “Klondaeg: Lord of Heroes.”
