PROUD FOX by JP Harker (COVER REVEAL)
Greetings all, this is James, aka JP Harker, here to announce that the long wait is over!
Proud Fox is the latest instalment of the Caledon Saga, with this book featuring former side-kick Elazar as the principle character. The tentative release date is set to be the Fifth of November (so ‘remember remember’), and the wonderful cover is once again courtesy of Ken Dawson at Creative Covers!
Here’s the blurb for Proud Fox:
Elazar son of Darizar, the urbane, handsome, and charming Prince of Ushir, is building mud huts in the middle of nowhere. And loves it. Lucan has welcomed him into the Caledon and, civilised bathing aside, Elazar is quite content to stay there. This may be influenced by the wild and fair Almha, who seems to find him as intriguing as he finds her.
But trouble brews back in Ushir. The new Gaian Emperor has a civil war to fight, and the son of King Darizar may be a valuable ally. Or a useful hostage. His happy life among the Caledon may soon come under threat, as games of power reach to grasp Elazar from across the sea. But a man must love his fate, for what else can he do?
For those who don’t know, the Caledon Saga takes place in a fantasy world inspired by Celtic Wales and Imperial Rome.
The Caledon Saga is probably best known for its battles, its historical realism, and the fact that the author seems to have some kind of personal grudge against the characters. Be prepared for bloody fights, a dash of romance, a touch of magic, and characters you’ll fall in love with, and then hate me for treating so badly!
The whole series so far is available on Amazon in both paperback and kindle form, with Proud Fox soon to join the illustrious line-up!
And now, the reveal of Ken’s excellent cover!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – Ken does a cracking job with these covers. He doesn’t just get a ‘right-looking face’, he always finds just the right expression to reflect the character – sometimes grim, sometimes wary, sometimes thoughtful. With Elazar, he really does look like a man conflicted about his future.
With each cover Ken not only portrays a different character, but also gives a different colour palette in the background to make each one unique. As you can see with these:
Well, thanks for reading – keep your eyes out in November for Proud Fox on Amazon!
PRAISE FOR WILDCAT from the Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch, Jeor Mormont (James Cosmo) himself! In his own words:
‘I had great pleasure reading Wildcat. Apart from your obvious talent as a writer, I have such admiration for your meticulous research.’ JAMES COSMO
