Women in SFF Week 4 Wrap Up
We’ve made it to the final week of Women in SFF 2021!
It’s been an incredible month, packed full of content. We’ve been completely floored by the incredible response from the community; we can’t tell you how much we love seeing all your responses to our photo challenge prompts, or how properly excited we get to see blog posts inspired by them!
If we’ve missed you, please comment and link below! We’d love to see the ways you’re taking part.
So, what have you all been up to…?
Reviews
We’re going to kick the wrap-up off with reviews, as that’s what we’re all here for really, right? Finding those books to add to our TBR!

Posts, Articles and Threads
We packed in some truly amazing guest posts this final week –
Susie Williamson returned to the Hive and treated us to an excerpt of her brand new novel The Warder
For this month’s Tough Travelling, we looked at our favourite female characters from female self-published authors.
Authors Hadeer Elsbai, E. J. Beaton, Kritika H. Rao, Rowenna Miller, and Sam Hawke discussed feminism in their world building.
Amanda Bridgeman joined us on her birthday (!) to discuss the sadness and sacrifices of her favourite female sci-fi authors.
We were joined by indie authors Suzannah Rowntree, Angela Boord, Virginia McClain, ML Wang, Rachel Emma Shaw and Krystle Matar as they discussed the high and low points of self-publishing.
Jonathan interviewed iconic Finnish New Weird author Leena Krohn.
Sammy H. K. Smith joined us again to take part in our Author Spotlight feature.
Eleanor Teasdale, Gemma Creffield, Ailsa Stewart and Caroline Lambe of Angry Robot Books joined us to discuss behind the scenes of publishing and what they look for in their books.
Caitlyn @tldr_bookreviews shared a stack of female-authored book recommendations.
And following on from Caitlyn, Dena @bookworm_365 also shared a stack of recommendations.
