Welcome to our second Women in SFF wrap up post!

We’ve reached the end of our second week, and as we said last week, every year we are always so humbled and grateful to see the love for this feature. It’s been another fantastic week!

Each week, we’ll try and round up all this wonderful content into one summary-wrap-up post – if we’ve missed you, please comment and link below! We’d love to see the ways you’re taking part.

So, what have you all been up to…?

Reviews

We’re going to kick the wrap-up off with reviews, as that’s what we’re all here for really, right? Finding those books to add to our TBR!

Shona @ the Hive: The Book of the Baku by R. L. Boyle

Nils @ the Hive: Jade Legacy by Fonda Lee

Susie Williams @ Susie’s Writerly Tales: The Fifth Season by N. K. Jemisin

Isabel Tyldesley @Isabeltyldesleyreads: A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik

Julia @Julia.Kitvaria.Sarene: When Cereba Fell by Rachel Emma Shaw

Julia @Julia.Kitvaria.Sarene: The Crow King by M. H. Woodscourt

Mat Media @mataboutmedia: A Natural History of Dragons by Marie Brennan

Kevin Co @kevinscorner: The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea by Axie Oh

Posts, Articles and Threads

There were plenty of ways we all celebrated Women in SFF this week –

  • We revealed the cover of and shared an exclusive extract from Mary Baader Kaley‘s upcoming BURROWED
  • Here on the Hive, we continued our blogger tags with #TheBookWouldBeBetter – looking at what series we’d want adapted.
  • Nils interviewed The Stardust Thief author Chelsea Abdullah and had the BEST TIME
  • We hosted a cover reveal of The Daughters of Izdihar by Hadeer Elsbai, coming soon from Harper Voyager US
  • Caroline Hardaker returned to the Hive with a guest post about The Body and Living as a Composite Creature
  • We were thrilled to welcome PR powerhouse Jamie-Lee Nardone to the Hive for an interview with Nils
  • Nils was super busy this week, she also featured an incredible list of Female Map Designers
  • And finally, Hannah M. Long joined us in our Author Spotlight for a chat about her series

Photo Challenge

And finally, the photo challenge. This year, we scaled it back with only the three prompts a week, but the response has been bigger than ever!

Mon 11th: Newbie

Wed 13th: “Just Take My Money”
Auto-buy female author

Fri 15th: Caught in Another World
