THE DAMNED KING by Justin Lee Anderson (COVER REVEAL)

That’s right long-time fans of the Eidyn Saga – today, we’re thrilled to be taking part in Orbit’s cover reveal for Book 3 in Justin Lee Anderson’s twisty epic fantasy, THE DAMNED KING!

This series has had quite the journey, and we at the Hive have loved following it! Before we check out the cover, let’s read the official blurb and see what Justin has in store for us next…

The eternal light keeping demons at bay has been extinguished and Eidyn’s last bastion is under brutal siege.

Aranok and his allies draw the final battle lines as the war for the kingdom nears its end.

With death threatening from every shadow and truth itself at stake, Eidyn’s defenders must put aside their grudges and come together.

But is it possible to save everyone when some prefer the lie?

The Damned King is due for publication 19th August 2025. You can pre-order your copy on Bookshop.org or Amazon.co.uk

And now for the cover…

Cover design is by Lauren Panepinto and art by Jeremy Wilson

I am loving the electric blue of this one! One covers feature a specific, I’m always excited to see which colour they’ll go for next in the series, and I think this was a brilliant choice to go with the orange and green of the previous two. Let’s hear from Justin –

I love this latest cover in the series for The Damned King. Jeremy Wilson’s art is so iconic, and Lauren Panepinto does such a great job of pulling it all together. Someone recently said that even if you took my name off this cover, you’d know it was the next book in The Eidyn Saga, and I love that.

I’m very aware it was a long gap between the very first edition of The Lost War and The Bitter Crown coming out, after SPFBO and signing with Orbit. Some readers waited four years! This wait will be more like 18 months, and that’s in no small part due to the fact that I was really ill for the first six months of 2023, which meant I was six months late handing in the first draft. Covid, man – I have an immune system like a sieve now.

But I have handed in the first set of edits and my editor is happy that the book is in great shape. For those who have read The Bitter Crown, he tells me that The Damned King delivers on the promise of that second book, and that the ending “does it again”.

In the meantime, I’m well into the fourth and final book in the saga, so hopefully there will be a smaller gap between this and the grand finale.

I can’t wait for you to read it all!

Cheers

Justin
