BLOOD RUIN by Tej Turner (COVER REVEAL)

Today we’re thrilled to be able to share with you an exclusive cover reveal for BLOOD RUIN, the upcoming fourth instalment in The Avatars of Ruin series by Tej Turner.

Due for publication on 31st July 2026 from Elsewhen Press, before we check out the cover, let’s find out more from the official blurb:

Two years have passed since the Battle of Fort Valen, and its repercussions still echo across
Sharma. Many of the people who fought are still missing, but it is unknown how many have
perished and how many have fled. Towns and villages lie deserted, and bandits roam the hills
and roadways.
Selena still maintains her position in the Synod, but only in name. In reality, she is now a
puppet, biding her time and doing her utmost to resist the strings that pull her when she can
blunt the cruel regime. Most of her allies are among those who have escaped. Bryna vanished
mysteriously without leaving a trace, whilst Rivan seems to want to do nothing more than
wander aimlessly. Baird has assembled a small band of insurgents but they are no match
against an empire, and Kyra has ventured to the Mountains of Valleshia on a quest to find the
Temple of Briggan.
To the south, the Babuan Jungle remains the final part of the world free from the tyranny of
Gavendara, but Elita knows the threat their armies of Zakaras pose and believes that they, too,
will succumb to the tide if she doesn’t convince them to fight.

Blood Ruin is due for release on 31st July 2026 – you can find out more about this book and the series on Tej Turner’s website and ElsewhenPress.com

Cover image of Tej Turner's Blood Ruin, book 4 in his Avatars of Ruin series. Cover art by Alison Buck from an idea by Tej. The centre of the image is a face in shadow with shining eyes, wild hair, and a red gem in its forehead. There is a glow behind the face but otherwise the background is black. Around the face in a circle are various animalistic and monstrous claws and tentacles woven together. Outside of that circle are panels bordered with blood red, containing an intricate celtic knot type pattern in various shades of green, one at the top, another at the bottom and a third encompassing the bottom half of the monstrous circle, surrounding the author’s name TEJ TURNER in stylised letters that are coloured blood red. Encompassing the top of the monstrous circle is the book title BLOOD RUIN in the same blood red characters.

Cover artist: Alison Buck

I love this cover! Like the rest of this series it is inspired by one of the central characters but on this occasion I can’t really talk about who it is without giving away spoilers (both for people about to read this instalment and those who haven’t read the earlier ones yet).

Elsewhen Press are kind enough to let me have input into concepts when it comes to the designs so – whilst I can’t take any credit for the execution – the concept was one that I pitched to them and Alison managed to recreate the image I had in my head perfectly. I honestly couldn’t be more pleased. – Tej Turner

About the artist:

Alison is a figurative and landscape artist and has exhibited and sold paintings of various styles throughout her career. Latterly she has increasingly been working on larger canvases, focusing on the natural world, trying to capture the transient and transforming effects of light and movement within landscapes. Semi-retired, for over twenty years she worked as a commercial graphic designer, running a design studio and producing graphics and artwork for corporate clients, book covers and illustrations. A co-founder of Elsewhen Press, Alison is also an accomplished author. Find out more
