Briz and Bayla: The Bronze Age Bounty Hunters – COVER REVEAL
Hey, folks! Jeramy Goble here. Author of the Akallian Tales space-fantasy trilogy, and Coven Queen, my stand-alone dark fantasy inspired by The Red Woman from Game of Thrones, and the film, The Witch. With the Akallian Tales, I explored the implications of having millions of past lives. In Coven Queen, I observed the world through the eyes of a complex, and magical queen. With Briz and Bayla: The Bronze Age Bounty Hunters… Well, I’ll get into that in a minute. Let’s first check out the cover!
For Briz and Bayla’s artwork, I needed an artist that was going to capture the up-close intricacies of both humans and creatures, alike. I scoured and searched for artists that would not only nail the creatures and main characters, but also had a wide breadth of skills and techniques, for not only this cover, but the subsequent books in the Briz and Bayla series. I eventually landed on Pedro Krüger Garcia–an easy decision once I came across him and his work.
My original idea for Briz and Bayla came to me as a simple premise: A male/female bounty hunter duo in the bronze age. I had just finished a book with medieval-esque castles, warfare, witchcraft, etc., and wanted to change things up a bit, and the details quickly started to take shape.
The bronze age soon narrowed to a focus on the middle to late bronze age. I wanted the setting for the first book to be around the eastern Mediterranean, as well as the Nile River valley, and the Nile River valley in the bronze age meant I could incorporate some fun with Egypt’s dynasties and pharaohs. Fuck yes! Bayla comes from present-day Turkey, and Briz hails from present-day Sudan, with the book starting out with Briz and Bayla as strangers. But fate and fortune bring them together.
Briz is a master hunter, known for being able to track, capture, or kill any target. He has gained a reputation for being the best in the business and commands the highest of compensation for his skills. When his latest bounty sets more obstacles in his path than anticipated, Briz reluctantly solicits the assistance of Bayla, a woman whose village was recently raided and destroyed, just as she was beginning to study the magical teachings of her family.
As reward for one of their mutual missions, a mysterious elder offers Briz and Bayla an odd payment they don’t believe to be real. They accept it, regardless, and for a time, think nothing more of it. And as they continue working together, they discover that they compliment each other extremely well, and cultivate a partnership that will take them well beyond the events, and time, of book one.
Briz and Bayla: The Bronze Age Bounty Hunters is the first book of a series that is crammed with excitement, spilling over with adventure, and busting at the seams with action, magic, and mystery!
