THE INFINITE TOWER by Dorian Hart (COVER REVEAL)

My name is Dorian Hart, and I am extremely grateful  to The Fantasy Hive for allowing me to unveil the cover for my upcoming book, The Infinite Tower.

The Infinite Tower is the fourth book in my Heroes of Spira series, a five-book classic fantasy saga about a hodgepodge team of would-be heroes constantly out of their depth.

I can’t share the entire blurb without massive spoilers for the previous book(s), but I think it’s safe to share the last bit:

“…But Het Branoi is a bizarre and deadly place, a baffling construction full of mystery and danger, of magic and chaos, with unexpected allies and terrifying monsters. Horn’s Company will need courage, perseverance, and more than a little luck if they are to find the Eye and discover the terrible secret at the heart of the Infinite Tower.”

The Heroes of Spira is hopeful quest fantasy, featuring flawed but likeable heroes you can cheer for, lots of magic, some bizarre and wondrous locations, a villain with an excellent moustache, talking gemstones, an unflappable butler, dream-walking, gods, monsters, a dash of romance, an unexpectedly large turtle, an intelligent telepathic cat, mysterious enchanted objects, baffling prophecies that end up making sense, and evil mathematicians —among other things and not necessarily in that order.

Here’s the cover for The Infinite Tower, painted and designed by the inimitable Gareth Hinds.

I have always been a big fan of Gareth —a fellow best known for his graphic novel adaptations of Greek epics and the works of Shakespeare.

I’ve been delighted with his work on the covers for the Heroes of Spira; his lovely paintings evoke a feeling of “old school” classic fantasy, which is exactly what I’m writing! Each one depicts a scene from the story inside, and I think they do a great job of instilling a feeling of “cool, I can’t wait to get to that scene and find out what’s happening.”

Like some of the previous covers, this one signals that you’re getting an ensemble cast.

The first three books—The Ventifact Colossus, The Crosser’s Maze, and The Greatwood Portal—are available on:

The Infinite Tower should be published in March. (Fingers crossed!)

What readers are saying about The Heroes of Spira:

“One of the most original epic fantasy journeys I have ever read…Surreal and wonderful.”  – Dyrk Ashton, author of the Paternus trilogy, on The Infinite Tower

“This is the sort of book that reminds me why fantasy is my favorite genre. Come for the adventure, stay for the amazing characters. I highly recommend this one.” – Witty and Sarcastic Book Club, on The Ventifact Colossus

“Wonderful characters, immersive setting, and a compelling narrative.” – Rusty’s Reads, on The Crosser’s Maze

Dorian Hart

Dorian Hart grew up in Narnia, Prydain, Middle Earth, etc. as much as he did in the Philly suburbs. He somehow leveraged a creative writing degree from Wesleyan U. into a 20-year career as a video game designer (Ultima Underworld 2, System Shock, Terra Nova, System Shock 2, Thief, Freedom Force vs. the Third Reich, BioShock, Card Hunter). He became a novelist and stay-at-home dad several years ago, and has written and self-published the first two books (The Ventifact Colossus and The Crosser's Maze) of an eventual five-book epic fantasy series. Dorian wrote the interactive SF adventure "Choice of the Star Captain" for Choice of Games. While he suspects he's far less witty and talented than the other members of the Hive, he would probably beat them all at ping-pong.
