Dusk Mountain Blues by Deston J. Munden – COVER REVEAL

This is a new thing for me! Dusk Mountain Blues has been in the works since my last book release, Tavern, not too long ago. Before then, it was a project much older; now re-purposed, rewritten, and forged into a new light.  This is my first dive into science fiction. It was an absolute pleasure to write it, despite the ups and downs that came with it. I would also like to thank the amazing Deck Matthews, artist and semifinalist of this year’s SPFBO, for creating this amazing cover. With nothing further to say, I would like to present the cover of the first book of the Dusk Orbit Blues series, Dusk Mountain Blues.

Dusk Mountain Blues is a fun mix between my love for science fiction and my love for westerns. It’s inspired by some of my favorite video games, including Fallout, Red Dead Redemption, and Mass Effect, as well as some of my favorite old science fiction novels. The first of the series is more grounded, introducing you to the characters in the world, but steadily builds up to an exciting science fiction experience.

The Caldwells have one goal in life: to be left alone. They’ve been living on the backwater planet of C’dar for years, smuggling and scavenging their way to a comfortable life on their Homestead. But you know the saying about all good things – they come to an end. The Civilization wasn’t content with falling apart the first time and has finally caught wind of the ol’ boys and girls on their little rock in the middle of nowhere. Ain’t nothing much they can do about that, though…except fight ’em.

It all comes down to three generations of Caldwells— Luke “Drifter” Caldwell, Woodrow “Appetite” Caldwell, and Cassie “Kindle” Caldwell—as they fend for everything they call home. What is isolation worth?

Dusk Mountain Blues will be available for purchase from Amazon on March 24th 2020.
